  • Bankruptcy 101 General Overview

Knowledge is power. The Denver bankruptcy lawyers at The Law Office of Andrew McKenna have helped countless clients win a fresh financial start through bankruptcy protection. We offer free and confidential consultations because we believe every consumer deserves immediate access to experienced legal representation.

Unfortunately, there are many myths and misconceptions about bankruptcy – which can prevent some from seeking protection and may keep others from asking for help for far too long. Still others may decide they don’t need to spend the money on experienced legal advice. As a result, they may not receive full protection under the law or may even be exposing themselves to allegations of bankruptcy fraud or other wrongdoing as a result of not properly claiming assets. In still other cases, a consumer may file under the wrong chapter or otherwise fail to comply with the orders and processes of bankruptcy court. The results can include long delays or even case dismissal, which in turn can leave a consumer open to judgments, liens and other punitive actions by creditors.
